The Month of January 2018
January is the coldest month of the year; at least it feels that way when the cold temps get below freezing. So we bundle up and stay warm. Several people take vacations to a warmer climate. But for us that stay in Wisconsin we need a little warmth to brighten our day. The "Friendship Recipe" will brighten anyone's day. It does not need any explanation. The poem contains the words that we love; kindness, forgiveness, encouragement, patience and sensitivity.
When you meet someone on the street, do you have any clue what a smile can do? A firm handshake? What emotions do you reveal? Do you nervously shake their hand or are you delighted to reach out your hand and smile. I took a psychology course years ago and met an inspirational teacher who taught us what a firm handshake should feel like. Talk about emotions. Just a few examples of emotions that can be expressed via facial expressions include:
"Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love."
We celebrate Martin Luther King, Jr. Day in January.
Its soon Valentine's Day and I would for you to read a poem written by an unknown author.
A candle meant to light your way.
A flower to brighten your day.
A tiny sponge to dry your tears
and soak up the needless fears.
A band aid meant to help you mend
your feelings when they ache.
And eraser comes in handy when
you've made a big mistake.
A paper clip reminds me of
how close I feel to you.
A candy for something sweet
when your feeling blue.
A rubber band for
a great bug squeeze.
A chocolate kiss
is sure to please.
A button cause my lips are sealed
your secrets all inside.
A golden thread that's in a knot
to say our hearts are tired.
A magic Star to wish upon
to make your dreams come true.
A little heart cause that's the place
where I shall cherish you.
